The King Stag is a family-run gastro pub in the heart of Bushey Village. Our ethos is to focus on locally sourced, high quality, fresh food and drink served in a friendly and professional way. We aim to be a hub of the community where local people can come for a coffee, a pint, a meal — or all three!
Bring your four-legged friend because they’re in for a treat! All pooches are greeted with a bowl of water and a saucer of dog biscuits. Why not treat them to something from our doggie menu. Choose from Arden Grange chicken and rice, a pigs ear, some Cumberland sausages or a delicious mini burger! They can even order a pint of Bottom Sniffer dog beer or Pawsecco to quench their thirst after a long walk. On a hot day we even have Pawsecco freeze pops. You can even join us on our monthly community dog walk on the last Sunday of every month. We set off from the pub at around 10:15am following a hot drink and return to the pub just before noon. Take your dog for a beautiful walk up on the Attenborough fields and Merry Hill and return to us for a delicious Sunday roast. Just let us know you’re bringing your dog, and we’ll reserve you a table in our bar area. There are always treats on the bar for your hound to help themselves to, so tell them not to be shy and dig in!

6 October 2017 at 9:23amThe pub offers all dogs a great time, providing water and dog treats as soon as they arrive. Well behaved dogs are welcome bar side in the pub and in the garden, including the pub’s resident dog, the gorgeous Charlie. The pub held a charity dog show this year which we all enjoyed – people and dogs alike. I can’t think of anything else they could do to improve their welcome for dogs…or people.

5 October 2017 at 7:28pmMax and I love to come along with my daughter after work. He always gets a nice welcome and a bowl of water and treats. Your menu is always excellent and it is so nice to bring Max with us and not have to worry about him being at home alone. It is a pity that more restaurants don’t take a leaf out of your book. It makes for a lovely experience every time we visit which would be improved greatly if you got a bottle of Campari in your bar.!!!!!!!!
