Fantastic location for taking yourself & your best (dogs) for a great walk after you have been for a lovely walk with stunning views of the moors & of course Darwen tower, the royal arms free house pub is a must for a bite to eat, drink with open fires to warm you up & your best friend get a warmly welcome by the lovely staff. ??

This has got to be one of the most dog friendly pubs around, my somewhat muddy German Shepherd went to sleep across the middle of the floor and no one said a word, not even though he was blocking the entrance to the bar, the way to the toilets and a doorway all at once. People just carefully walked round him.
There’s quite often nearly as many dogs as people in here and there’s always plenty of water for the canine customers.
They have damn good beer and food too, it’s an excellent pub. They even get a Border Morris Side dancing there from time to time.
