Situated on the side of Rodborough Common you can’t get a much more welcoming pub for dogs and their owners. Drinking bowls of diferent heights and many treats behind the bar. A real proper pub, this is where people collect to chat and drink beer, cider and wine after, and sometimes before, excercising their canine friends.

My name is Daisy and I love to go to the Albert with my human Peter. The Albert has the best music for dogs in Gloucester. I have seen The Dog Night , Snoop Doggy Dog and The fabulous Poodles. All these bands were great but I was less keen on The Stray Cats who I chased out of the pub, and dont get me started on Cat Stephens. I love to dance but being a dog I have to admitt ive got 2 left feet. The film nights at the Albert are very special but I was a little was disappointed that the film Rocky wasnt about a Boxer dog.
The Albert is the only put that I know that encourages me and my friends to be off a lead and this means that I can find a place by the roaring fire while my human has a fantastic Sunday Lunch and a pint of the best beer in Stroud. There is not another pub that welcomes dogs and humans with more generosity or greater welcome than the Prince Albert. In fact you’d be barking not to award them first prize.

A pub where the dog is named after an ABBA song. Fernando (ferdi) is the cherry on top of one of the best pubs in the Cotswolds. A perfect mix of ages, music and culture. Warm fire in winter and a beer garden in summer; it’s the best of both worlds all year round.

The Prince Albert is a fantastic pub and the dogs are even better. They are the characters of all the locals and the best of the customers at the pub. They are welcomed by the two friendly resident dogs and all the dog ‘locals’. Treats are ready at the bar and lots of space either In the yard or garden or to snuggle up by the open fire. Couldn’t think of a better pub for dogs!

Not only are dogs allowed in the the beer garden, but the whole bar too. There are two wonderful resident dogs, who welcome all canine friends into their home. Outside there is a covered beer garden for the Great British Weather, and a grassy beer garden for when the sun shines.
The dogs are as much a beloved in this pub as the regulars, and known by the whole community.
My pup was very much socialized in this pub (a huge part of her being a human- and dog-friendly pooch).
The dogs are less a welcome addition to this pub, and more a part of the community.
The owners Lotte & Miles (as well as their children, the grown up ones taking a part in the running) have created a wonderful place for people and pooches to relax, socialize and generally have a ball.
Lotte’s late dog Jasper also helped saved the family when the pub tragically caught fire during the night, with the family tucked up asleep in their flat upstairs.
I highly recommend this pub to people and pups alike.
