We are a family run pub and part of our family is our dog called Teddy. He’s a white German Shepherd dog who loves to stand and greet the customers including their dog companions! Our customers’ dogs won’t be disappointed throughout their visit with staff fussing over them, giving them treats and ensuring that not only are our human friends having a good time but our dog companions too! We offer some fantastic menus for both humans and doggie alike and there is always a treat!

2 November 2019 at 6:03pmWhat a find! Arrived tired and with 2 very muddy dogs. Thought we would have to sit outside but no, after dogs hosed down, towels and rugs provided we were greeted warmly and dogs given a drink and treat. Had coffee and even returned later for a tasty lunch with same warm welcome to dogs and humans alike.

27 October 2019 at 8:59pmFabulous pub. No wonder it was busy when we visited- it’s so good people will want to go back. Yes its very very dog friendly but the food was tip top too. Front of house welcome was as good as it gets. Service was flawless. Like a good holiday location, you almost dont want to recommend it because it tell friends as it might be harder to get in next time!

The owners (Mike & Wendy), staff and Teddy the German Shepherd will make you really feel at home. Menus include traditional, vegan and doggy.

15 October 2019 at 4:28pmThe Gardeners Arms in Alderton Tewkesbury is a 16th Century pub in a Cotswold Village and is a long standing dog friendly pub. The pub has its own dog menu, special dishes to eat from & dog biscuit treats.
There are towels in the entrance hall for owners to wipe wet doggies big and small. Water bowl for dogs outside. The Gardeners Arms staff always welcome the dogs and make a fuss of them (and their owners) Vegan special menu which I have. I noticed that this pub is very popular with locals, families, walking groups, cyclists and Clubs when I have been for lunch.

Summer (our miniature labradoodle) was most taken and loved the fuss from the friendly staff! Our holiday guests always say how lovely the food is and how welcoming the staff are. From the stunning food -the smoked haddock scotch egg was a particular triumph – to the friendly staff the Gardeners has it all. Our dog knows her way to the pub and she’s now such a regular she occupies her own seat at the bar.

Proper VEGAN menue vegan puddings & vegan wine too. You might see some horses in the car park too – real 16th Century pub (part). I’m a regular visitor and have to book ahead for Sunday lunch as it’s so popular – even on Mother’s Day there is 3 sittings
